Pedro Serrato Duron

February 17, 1944-February 18, 2023, born to Porfirio and Guadalupe Duron in Greenville, Mississippi. He grew up in Milton Center, Ohio and went to school at Westwood High School. He was a career soldier in the US Army, retiring after 28 years, including 3 tours in Vietnam and 2 tours in Korea. He retired from the Army as an E-9 Sergeant Major. He retired from VIA Metropolitan after driving for several years. He was an avid fisherman and loved all sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

Pedro is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Duron and sister Carmen Guffey.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 51 ½ years Jesusita Duron; four children, Cecilia Duron, Sylvia Solis (Michael), Felipe Duron (Jennifer), Gloria Rodriguez (Abraham); grandchildren Jessica Christman, Elena Solis (Jake Manjarres), Alicia Solis, Andreas Duron (Priscilla), Helaina Duron, Johnny Nuncio III, Serina Nuncio; brother, Antonio Duron, sisters Ruby Gonzales and Rosie Valdez; his fur babies, Twix, Reeses and Baby Ruth, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Pedro will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM with the rosary recited from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A Caisson Service with Military Honors will occur Friday, March 17, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at the Assembly Area, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 16075 North Evans Rd, Selma, TX 78154. A graveside service will follow from Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
