FREMONT — A Perrysburg woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on U.S. 6.

The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Route 6 at TR 26 in Sandusky County at 6 a.m.

A white 2005 Dodge Magnum, driven by Grace Molyet, 55, Perrysburg, was northbound on TR 26. A white 2018 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Kent Blocher, 61, Union City, was eastbound on Route 6.

Molyet ran the stop sign at the intersection and went into the path of Blocher, according to the patrol. After impact, both vehicles ran off the north side of the road and into a building. As a result of the crash approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel were spilled in the immediate area and contained.

Molyet was extricated from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Blocher was also wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Fremont ProMedica Hospital where he was treated and released.

The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Gibsonburg Fire Department, Helena Fire Department, Bradner Fire Department, Sandusky County Life Squads 14 and 17, the Sandusky County Coroner’s Office and the Sandusky County EMA director.

Alcohol and drug impairment are not factors in the crash.
