VAN BUREN — At the Division III sectional wrestling tournament Saturday, Elmwood was second, scoring 171 points to finish behind first place Liberty-Benton (226½).
Carey (111 ½) was third, followed by Van Buren (105), Bluffton (78), McComb (77 ½), Cory-Rawson (73), Patrick Henry (73), Arcadia (68), Tiffin Calvert (61), Hopewell-Loudon (60), Riverdale (16) and Pandora-Gilboa did not score.
Winning championships for the Royals were sophomore Peyton Schafer (23-12) at 132 pounds, senior Frank Blair (27-9) at 157 and senior Cannon Endicott (33-2) at 175.
Elmwood wrestlers finishing second were freshman McKoy Morlock (19-17) at 126, sophomore Connor Sterling (23-15) at 150 and junior Thomas Tyson (24-13) at 165.
Elmwood junior Colin Campbell (21-16) placed third at 138, senior Grady Nekoranec (20-15) placed fourth at 113, and freshman Marcus Mossbarger (14-20) at fourth at 120.
