A Van Buren man has been cited for criminal trespass after he was found passed out in a city residence,

Bowling Green police were called to the 200 block of North Enterprise Street Sunday around 3:15 a.m. for an unknown person who had entered the house.

Upon their arrival, officers found a male that was passed out on the floor of a bedroom.

The man was later identified as Jared Gifford, 20.

An attempt to wake Gifford was unsuccessful, but he was breathing and moving, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Bowling Green Fire Division was already on the way as officers were able to get Gifford to sit up.

He could not tell the officers his name.

The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected of Gifford’s breath, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he had vomited on himself. He also had a bar wristband on his right wrist while under the age of 21, according to the report.

BGFD arrived and transported Gifford to the Wood County Hospital, where he was cited for criminal trespass and underage/under the influence.

The resident said he did not want the man charged with burglary, but requested restitution for a damaged bedroom doorknob, damaged window blinds and vomit in his closet.

Gifford later was cited for criminal mischief.

The resident was told he could speak with the Bowling Green Prosecutor`s Office and request restitution.
