Robert W. Lemmerbrock, 92, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Bowling Green Manor. He was born in North Baltimore, Ohio, on May 7, 1930, to Julia (Greive) and John Lemmerbrock. Bob was a graduate of Bowling Green High School. He enlisted in the Ohio National Guard and was called to active duty in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served in Korea as a heavy equipment operator for post-conflict reconstruction. After receiving an honorable discharge, Robert met Catherine “Kay” Chamberlain at a dance at Meadowbrook in Bascom, Ohio. On April 18, 1959, they married at Hope Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. They raised four children and celebrated nearly 64 years of marriage together before Kay’s passing just a month ago.

Bob was a lifelong farmer and owner/operator of Lemmerbrock Drainage for 37 years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, where he served as a council member and Sunday School superintendent and played on the dartball team. Bob collected antique tractors and was a founding member of the Power of Yesteryear

club of Bowling Green. Other memberships included the Ohio Land Improvement Contractors Association and the Historical Construction Equipment Association. He obtained his private pilot’s license and was a member of the Flying Farmers Association. He enjoyed dancing and traveling with Kay, especially train tours through Europe, Colorado, and Canada.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Douglas (Kristin) Lemmerbrock of Bowling Green, Karen (Jim) Cajka of Luckey, Lisa (Don) Withrow of Luckey, Daniel (Sara) Lemmerbrock of Sylvania; grandchildren: Bryan (Amanda) Cajka, Brody Lemmerbrock, Erik Withrow, Julianna Cajka, Amanda Withrow, Emily Cajka, and Ava Lemmerbrock; great-grandchildren: Bryce Cajka and Natalie Cajka. He is also survived by his sister: Carol (Roger) Blackburn of Maumee and brother: Lewis (Heidi Gilman) Lemmerbrock of Bowling Green. In addition to his wife, Kay, Bob was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Paul Lemmerbrock.

Friends and family will be received from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 11 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2023. There will be additional visitation on Monday from 10 am until the time of services. Pastor Michael Hughes will officiate. Interment will be at Fish Cemetery, Pemberville, Ohio.
