Prep Roundup: Boos’ 21 leads Eastwood over Ottawa Hills, 66-50

PEMBERVILLE — Case Boos scored 21 points and Kadyn Donnell and Brady Weaver scored 13 apiece to lead Eastwood to a 66-50 non-league win over Ottawa Hills Tuesday.

Eastwood improves to 13-6, while the Green Bears fall to 9-10. Eastwood led 14-9 after one quarter, and then outscored Ottawa Hills 41-23 over the middle two quarters.

Caleb Souder scored six, Noah Smith, Tristan Schuerman, and Dayquan Oliver scored three apiece, and Andre Lewis and Andrew Badenhop added two points each for the Eagles.

Eastwood made 10 three-point goals, including three by Donnell and two each from Boos and Souder. The Eagles were 10-for-11 from the free throw line and had eight turnovers, but just three entering the final quarter.

For Ottawa Hills, Sam McCaffery scored 19, Nick Anderson scored 12, Brayden Miller scored 10, and Jackson Snyder scored five points. The Green Bears were 14-for-21 from the stripe and had six turnovers.

Elmwood 46, McComb 37

McCOMB — Elmwood trailed McComb, 29-28, entering the fourth quarter, but the Royals closed on an 18-8 run to defeat the Panthers, 46-37, in non-league boys basketball Tuesday.

Hayden Wickard had 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead the Royals and Kade Lentz had 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Will Harrison had four points and six rebounds, Allen Sterling scored four points, Landry Seedorf had three points and three assists, Andrew Traxler scored three points and Jackson Childress and Zach May added two points each.

Elmwood moves to 5-13 on the season while McComb drops to 7-12. Camden Glaser led McComb with nine points and Grant Dishong added eight points.

New Riegel 43, Lakota 35

KANSAS — Lakota trailed by just two, 31-29, entering the fourth quarter, but New Riegel outscored the Raiders 12-6 over the final eight minutes, including going 6-for-6 at the free throw line for a 43-35 Sandusky Bay Conference River Division victory Tuesday.

New Riegel is 12-7 overall and 10-4 in the River Division while Lakota slips to 2-17 and 2-12. The Raiders led 12-10 after one quarter but New Riegel took a 23-20 halftime lead.

Reese Goshe led New Riegel with 11 points, Shane Jones scored eight, Shane Hohman and Khym Kauffman scored seven apiece, Matthew Flores scored six, and Carson Pahl and Drew Hohman added two points each.

Mitchell Rosser and Alex Holman scored 11 each to lead the Raiders, Collin Zender and Alex McGinnis scored six each and Jacob Stuller added one point.

Perrysburg withdraws from state duals

PERRYSBURG — The Perrysburg wrestling team has withdrawn from this Saturday’s Division I state duals meet at Lakewood St. Edward High School.

Coach Scott Burnett said the team has too many injured wrestlers right now that needs rest. Perrysburg had qualified for the state duals meet by routing Avon Lake, 61-7, in a district final last Saturday.
