Prep Roundup: Kade Lentz scores 30 to lead Royals

BLOOMDALE — Kade Lentz had 30 points, three 3-point goals, four steals, and five assists in leading Elmwood boys basketball to a 45-31 non-league victory over visiting Arcadia Monday.

Zach May scored six points and grabbed five rebounds and Hayden Wickard had three points, for rebounds, four steals and four assists for the Royals.

Landry Seedorf and Jackson Childress scored two points apiece, Tommy Curtis and Zach Gross added one point apiece, and Andrew Traxler had four rebounds for Elmwood.

For Arcadia, Stoner scored 10 points, Harris scored six, Roder and Philpot scored five apiece, Emerich scored three and Coleman added two points.

The Royals are 4-13 while the Redskins fall to 2-18.

Perrysburg 46, Toledo Whitmer 36

TOLEDO — Kallie Thames scored 11 points and Hayley Griggs scored 10 to lead Perrysburg to a 46-36 non-league girls cage win at Whitmer’s Memorial Fieldhouse Monday.

Ayla Turk scored seven, Chloe Kilbride scored six, Megan Gibbs scored five, Wrigley Takats scored four, and Taylor Jockett added three points for the Yellow Jackets.

Denni Lawrence scored 14, Jada Shoup scored 10, Madison Welch scored four, Sydnee Borer and Nicole Kynard scored three apiece and Madison Finch added two points for the Panthers.

Carey 61, Elmwood 16

CAREY — Carey got nine players into the scoring column, led by Riley Yost’s 10 points, during a 61-16 non-league girls basketball victory over visiting Elmwood Monday.

Aubrey Johnson scored five points, Cara Frank had four points, nine rebounds, and three steals, Anna Meyer scored three points, Kate Keiffer had two points and two assists, and McKenzie Laird scored two points for the Royals, which slip to 8-13.

The Royals were guilty of 30 turnovers, had just 17 rebounds, and made 4-of-19 two-point field goals, 2-of-8 from the arc and made both free throw attempts.

Macy Wentling and Julia Brodman scored nine points each for the Blue Devils (14-6).

Alexa Plott and Kynlee Phillips scored seven apiece, Rylee Row scored six, Ady Stewart scored five, and Kelsey Bursey and Meghan Littlejohn scored four apiece.

Bryan 67, Lake 31

BRYAN — Reese Grothaus scored 22 and Kailee Thiel scored 12 to lead Bryan to a 67-31 non-league girls cage victory over visiting Lake Monday.

Elise Staczek scored 16, Sydney Stanley scored 13 and Jessie Materni added two points for the Flyers.

Ella Voigt and Blayze Langenderfer scored nine apiece, Ella Rau scored six, Alli Alspaugh scored three and Ella Miller added two points for the Golden Bears.

Lake falls to 8-13 while Bryan improves to 18-2.
