Christopher Wilbarger, 58, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Monday January 30, 2023. He was born on May 15, 1964 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Judith (Van Orman) Wilbarger.
Chris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg, Ohio where he also sang in the church choir. He was known for his handyman skills and enjoyed helping fix up his mother’s and younger sister‘s houses when they needed it. Chris took college courses at University of New Orleans but ultimately got an Associate of Applied Science degree at Professional Skills Institute in Toledo. His degree took him into a career as a Physical Therapy Assistant and to a job he enjoyed at Concept Rehabilitation at Swan Creek. He enjoyed gardening and even fixed up his backyard to be a wildlife sanctuary. Chris enjoyed his time in New Orleans where he lived for more than 15 years and had a great many friends. Moving back to Ohio after Hurricane Katrina, he found his greatest joy came from loving and spending time with his family and his dog, Sammy.
Along with his mother, Judy, he is survived by his sisters Heidi Wilbarger of Nashville, Tennessee and Rebecca Wilbarger of Perrysburg, Ohio.
Chris was preceded in death by his father Walter Wilbarger and his sister Elizabeth Wilbarger.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday February 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Perrysburg First United Methodist Church, 200 W. 2nd St. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Pastor Jim Jennings will officiate.
Funeral services have been entrusted with Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street.
