Hear about hiking, do yoga with Wood County parks

Greenhouse Help is set for Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 10 a.m.-noon at J.C. Reuthinger Memorial Preserve, 30730 Oregon Road, Perrysburg, Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23 and Tuesdays, Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 10 a.m.- noon. Assist the stewardship department with the native plant program by transplanting seedlings and performing other tasks in the greenhouse. All tools and materials provided.

Winter Yoga at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve is set for Mondays, Feb. 6, 13 and 20 at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, 29530 White Road, Perrysburg. The program fee is $24 for all three sessions.

Monitoring Recap and Kickoff will be Feb. 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve. Learn about the different volunteer monitoring opportunities being offered in your parks. A short report will be given on the monitoring data collected the previous year. A light dinner will be provided. Register at wcparks.org/volunteer.

Base Camp Stories: Hiking Coast to Coast on the American Discovery Trail – Jodi Harrington will be Feb. 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve. Learn tips, tricks and triumphs from local adventurers. Though from small-town Northwest Ohio, Harrington has always sought big adventures. Driving a vegetable-oil-run truck to Alaska, circumnavigating Florida on her bicycle and visiting every national park are just a few. She’ll discuss one of her biggest adventures of all: walking across America on the northern route of the American Discovery Trail.

Adults Only: Animal Valentines is set for Feb. 14 and 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve. Bring aspecial someone and learn about nonhuman valentines. Enjoy an evening of trivia and games and see how much you know about the mating rituals of animals near us. Warm beverages will be available during this program.
