Dr. Thomas A Snyder passed away January 24, 2023, aged 80.

Dr. Snyder was born to Dr. B.A. Snyder and Ann (Crane) Snyder in Toledo, OH.

He graduated from Burnham High School in Sylvania, OH in 1960, studied at Ohio University before joining the Navy as a Yeoman 2nd class. After being honorably discharged he followed in the proud footsteps of his father and grandparents and went to study Chiropractic at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL.

While in school, he was also active in the Zenobia Shrine and enjoyed performing with the band and it was at the 1966 Great Lakes Convention in Milwaukee that an eccentric relative played match maker with her niece and introduced him to the love of his life, Jacqueline J. Schmid. They were married in 1967.

Upon graduation, the newlyweds moved to West Toledo and he started working with his father at Snyder & Snyder Clinic on Douglas Avenue. After his father’s retirement he took over the practice entirely.

In 1979 he opened a second office in Bowling Green, OH and provided care to his patients until his retirement in 2022. From 2007 until his retirement, Dr. Snyder was the Chiropractic Team Physician for the Bowling Green State University sports department.

Over the years, Dr. Snyder held various leadership positions within numerous professional organizations in order to advance the visibility and understanding of the profession, including the American Chiropractic Association, the American College of Chiropractic Consultants, the Ohio State Chiropractic Association as well as the Northwest Ohio Chiropractic Association.

His passion was chiropractic but his pride and joy were his family and home. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline, son Tom (Wayne Newman), daughter Larissa (Kevin) DiBella, daughter Kelsey Kuhlman, sister Suzanne (Joseph) Willa, and grandchildren, Julia DiBella, Gracie DiBella, Brady Kuhlman and Marin Kuhlman.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 4:00 pm until the time of his Celebration of Life serve at 6:30 pm at Deck Hanneman Family Funeral Home in Bowling Green, OH.
