Prep Roundup: Sayen, Konecny lead Bobcats past Knights

Jamie Sayen scored 14 points and Anne Konecny scored 13 as the Bowling Green girls basketball team defeated Otsego Monday, 56-25, on the Bobcats’ floor. Samantha Lehr scored 11 for the Knights.

Macyn Dean-Scheele scored seven points, Lola Thompson and Allie Fry scored six apiece, Sydney Maas scored five points, Shayle Greiner scored four points and Ashley Knowlton added one point for the Bobcats.

For Otsego, Sophie Dimick scored seven points, Morgen Hillesheim, Rylee Brown and Emma Gibbs scored two points each and Jocelyn Cornell added one point.

Old Fort 61, Lakota 15

KANSAS — In Sandusky Bay Conference River Division basketball Monday, Old Fort defeated Lakota, 61-15. Konnor Ernsberger led the Stockaders with 15 points.

For Lakota, Jacob Stuller scored seven points, Alex Holman scored four points, and Colin Zender and Zane Frey-Quick added two points each.

For Old Fort, Ryan Adelsberger scored nine points, Pierson Steyer, Blake Bender and Carter Dubois scored eight points each, Isiah Perez and Carter Cleveland scored five apiece and Brock Miller added three points.

Old Fort improves to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the SBC River, while Lakota drops to 1-9 and 1-6.

Bowling Green 2,324, Maumee 2,184

MAUMEE — At Timber Lanes, the Bowling Green boys bowling team defeated Maumee, 2,324-2,184 in a Northern Lakes League match Monday.

For BG, Miguel Lorenzen bowled 181 and 193, Jerrad Main bowled a 203 and 167, Lucas Lilly bowled 160 and 166, Cyrus Highman bowled 199 and 178, and Aidan Peper bowled 169 and 195.

BG Baker scores were 170, 167 and 176. On Thursday, BG bowls Springfield at Southwyck Lanes and on Jan. 19, the Bobcats take on Anthony Wayne at Al-Mar Lanes.

Bobcats’ Deiter wins championship

ELMORE — At the Woodmore A Classic Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Bowling Green’s Landon Deiter won a championship at 138 pounds.

Jackson Shafer finished third, Owen Rath finished fourth; Jacob U’Ren, Wyatt Bechstein and Luke Miller finished fifth; and Colton Reefe was sixth.

Bobcats winning matches at Woodmore were Michael Fry-Casares, Xavier Scott, Timmy Zemaitis, Dylan Firsdon, Andrew White, Ryan Coronel, Connor Frasor, Cor’Neal Lawrence, Luke Feehan, Hunter Koz and Navoia Ragin.

BG wrestlers Cohen Lewis, Daniel Fields, Paul Archer, Jacob Baumgardner and Dominick Burch all competed at the Perrysburg Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Fields and Burch both placed seventh.
