PERRYSBURG — At the Perrysburg YMCA, Perrysburg hosted their first meet of the season and held Senior Night to honor all five male and all five female swimmers and divers graduating this year.

The Perrysburg boys swimmers scored 138 points to defeat Sylvania Southview (56) and Sylvania Northview (3). The Perrysburg girls scored 112 to defeat Southview (51), Northview (33) and Maumee (2).

On the boys team, seniors are Steven Green, John Majerus, Nik Neceski, Kyle O’Connell, and Owen Recker.

“This was a big meet as we move closer to NLL championships and the boys competitive spirit showed with a first-place finish in nearly every event,” coach Alana Sigg said. “The boys continue to build momentum throughout each meet, and we are excited to see their performance as we enter the end of our season.

Perrysburg’s five female senior swimmers and divers graduating this year are Emma Erlenbusch, Haley Gano, Elena Gerken, Maddie Searfoss, and Isabella Staschiak.

“The Lady Jackets looked strong with their powerful strokes and excellent underwaters throughout the meet,” Sigg said. “Perrysburg girls are looking to hold on to their NLL championship from last year and that determination has not wavered.”

Perrysburg’s next competition is at Oak Harbor followed by an away meet with Wauseon and Bryan at Wauseon High School.

The Northern Lakes League meet will conclude the league season at Bowling Green State University with diving on Thursday and swimming on Friday.

Competition will continue with two home meets where Perrysburg will host Clay on Jan. 16 , Tipp City Tippecanoe on Jan. 21 and Whitmer on Jan. 27 at the Perrysburg YMCA.
