Karen A. Witzler passed peacefully and gently on Friday, December 16th, 2022, surrounded by her children. She was welcomed into the arms of her father, whom she lost at the age of 15, her mother, brothers, sister and husband.

Karen was born December 30th, 1943, the 4th child of Lloyd & Leona (Bateson) Morris in Dowling, Ohio. She grew up in their home cherishing her childhood memories.

Karen met Donald Witzler at a Luther League gathering at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, where they were lifetime members. Karen graduated from Eastwood High School in 1960 and married Don on June 22, 1963. They celebrated 58 years together until his death in January 2021.

A mother and grandmother to her core, there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. Ready to go at a moment’s notice, she would jump in her car and come to the aid of her kids, beloved grandkids and great-grandchildren. All the while truly enjoying the journey to wherever life would take her.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Yvonne), LeAnn, William (Cindy), and Sara (Dan) Cooper; grandchildren: Lauren (Ben), Kirstie, Jacquelyn (Eric), Cameron (Michelle) & Faith, Joseph, Nikolaus and Cordelia, Chase, Delaney & Bridget: great- grandchildren: Weston, Charlotte, Rowan, Quinn, Lucas and another one on the way. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.

Karen began her career as a teller with Ohio Citizens Bank and continued until her retirement from PNC as an Auditor. She loved spending time with her family, making every birthday and holiday special, even if it meant baking, at the last minute, after church and wrapping presents when the little ones went to bed. She loved being pampered, even to the end of her life.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 28th from 1-3 p.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 22552 Carter Road, Bowling Green, OH where services will be held at 3 p.m.

Interment will be held at a later date. Her wish was to be buried with her husband in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to SV Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Otterbein of Perrysburg and Ashanti Hospice for the devoted care she received from all their staff, nurses, aides and associates.

Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg, OH.
