Bowling Green police were called to the Bowling Green Community Center Monday and cited a Weston man for assault.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., police received an assault report at the community center on West Newton Road.

A male teen told police he was playing basketball with some friends when a verbal dispute started between him and Dominic Myers. The teen stated that Myers charged at him, shoved him down, got him into a headlock and then punched the right side of his face, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

A witness said the victim and Myers were trash talking while playing basketball when Myers got mad. The witness gave the same description of events as the victim.

Dispatched advised there was an active warrant for the 17-year-old victim. He was taken to the juvenile detention center.

Myers, 19, arrived at the police station around 5:20 p.m. and took responsibility for his actions, according to the report.

He was trespassed from the community center and cited for assault.
