PERRYSBURG — Way Public Library and the League of Women Voters of the Perrysburg Area welcome Ashley Phlipot, executive director of the Fort Meigs Historic Site, for a presentation on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Phlipot will discuss how Fort Meigs Historic Site is striving to refocus the storytelling of this significant and often misunderstood battlefield by expanding the historical narrative, introducing new technology onsite and virtually, and correcting misconceptions about the property and its purpose.

Phlipot has been with the Fort Meigs Historic Site for 14 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in theater and history from Heidelberg University and is pursuing a master’s degree in history with a public history emphasis at Bowling Green State University. Fascinated by the lesser-known stories of the War of 1812, her research focuses on the lower-ranking soldiers’ and women’s roles in the conflict.

Admission is free and open to the public. For more information about the program, visit waylibrary.info or call 419-874-3135 ext. 119.
