Lawrence “Larry” Vollmar, 86, of Weston, Ohio passed away surrounded by family Monday November 28, 2022. He was born on November 9, 1936 in Tontogany, Ohio to David and Carrie (Ershick) Vollmar.

Larry retired after 28 years from General Motors Foundry Defiance in 1991, then he became the sexton and grounds keeper for the Weston Cemetery for many years before retiring from that as well. His real passion in life was being a volunteer Fireman. In 1955 he joined Tontogany Fire Department, then in 1963 he joined Weston Fire Department where he was Asst. Chief and treasurer for many years. He was a long-time member of the NWO Bowling Association and a frequent member of the 300 club! He loved supporting his Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his daughters Tammy Crow, Kim Thomas, Cindy (Curtis) Borders, and Penny (Tom) Hanna. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. His sisters Betty Box, Ruby (Bill) Ducat, Shirley (Richard) Householder and Rose Davis and brother George (Anna) Vollmar also survive.

Larry was preceded in death by his son John Vollmar, son-in-law David Thomas, and great-grandson Brady Crow. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Wayne, Paul, Richard and David Vollmar Jr as well his sisters Ilene Jeffers, Frances Chancey and Kay Reeder.

We’re all gonna miss you so much, please save a spot for me right next to you. I’m not sure how my kids Brandon, Brad, & Brittany will navigate things from here but with you being our angel now I know we’ll be ok. Love, your baby girl.

A public graveside service and Last Call Fireman’s Service will be held on Friday December 9, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Weston Cemetery. Pastor Maryann Reimund will officiate and the Weston Fire Department will lead the Fireman’s Service. Everyone is welcome to wear their favorite sports apparel in memory of Larry. Following services at the cemetery, all are welcome to join the family for a luncheon at the Tontogany Legion to continue celebrating Larry’s life.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street.
