Dina L. Bowers, 83, of Deshler, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, OH. She was born in Hoytville, Ohio on March 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Mawer) Scheerer. In 2001 she married Allen Bowers, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2022.
Surviving Dina are her children: Rick Newcomer of Columbus, OH, Darryl (Laura) Newcomer of North Baltimore, OH, Michael Newcomer of Findlay, Victoria (Justin) Hendren of McComb; step-children: Donna Rader of Defiance, Ohio, and Ray (Aryann) Bowers of Bowling Green; siblings: Nancy (Jack) Scheidler of McComb, Sally (Jim) Mchaffie of Tiffin, Donna (Donnie) Gordan of McComb, Betty (Elmer) Long of Bowling Green, Mary (Garver) Oxley of Tiffin, Mick (Loretta) Scheerer; grandchildren: Austen, Logan, Cameron, Ian and Aiden Hendren, Garrett Clark-Rader, Levi Newcomer, Ryder Sammons, Baylee and Kenzy Bowers, Ty Ditto, Andy J. Morgan; and great-grandchildren: Liam Hendren, Emery Baker, Jaemacyn, Dallas, and Jersey Morgan.
Dina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Allen, a son Earl (Peanut) Newcomer; sisters: Norma (Skip) Oman, Margie (Bill) Bibler, Susan (Butch) Sutton, and Lois (Keith) George.
Dina enjoyed her career as a bus driver for decades at McComb schools and retired at the age of 73. She drove countless miles for both school and sporting events. Dina took great pleasure in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Visitation for Dina will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 W. Sandusky St. Findlay. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Walter officiating. A private burial will take place at McComb Union Cemetery.
