PERRYSBURG – In celebration of the upcoming holiday season, Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital is inviting the community to a holiday open house featuring Santa Claus, a Christmas tree and expanding health care services.
The hospital is hosting a ribbon cutting and blessing of the Wood County’s first cardiac cath lab, all the while providing holiday fun with a Santa visit, the annual lighting of the Christmas tree and sweet treats.
The open house and annual tree lighting event is open to the community and will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital, 12623 Eckel Junction Road. Use entrance B.
A cardiac catheterization lab, also known as a cath lab, is a specialized area used for minimally invasive tests and advanced cardiac procedures. During a cardiac catheterization, a catheter, or a long, thin, flexible tube, is inserted in a blood vessel and threaded to your heart, allowing specialists to perform various tests and treatments.
Following the blessing of the cath lab, visitors are invited to enjoy music, holiday spirit and tours of the new state-of-the-art lab. Holiday activities will include a visit from Santa and treats such as hot chocolate and mini-Bundt cakes.
Champions for Children will also be on site to accept food donations to provide food assistance to families served by the Mercy Health – Toledo Trauma Recovery Center. Community members are invited to help the TRC stock their shelves this season by donating easily opened, non-perishable food items.
Since opening in 2019, Mercy Health has provided Perrysburg’s only full-service community hospital, featuring a full range of compassionate, high-quality health care and exceptional services. Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital offers 46 private inpatient rooms and now adds a cardiac cath lab to its list of comprehensive services such as surgery, critical care, on-site lab, imaging and diagnostic services, a comprehensive cancer center and a full-service, 24/7 emergency room.
