Patwardhan’s films screened at BGSU

The Department of Asian Studies at Bowling Green State University invites the public to a film screening by renowned Indian documentary filmmaker, Anand Patwardhan on Wednesday. The screening will take place at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Room 206 from 6-9 p.m.

Patwardhan is known for his socio-political, award-winning films. He has spent decades capturing Mumbai’s slum dwellers, the reality of the caste system, the rise of Hindu nationalism, and tensions between India and Pakistan. He is a member of the Oscar academy, and his films have earned more than 20 international awards, and the list is included with this application.

Films to be screened are “In the name of God” and “Reason.”
