92 coronavirus cases reported in last week

There have been 36,831 coronavirus cases in Wood County, according to a Thursday Ohio Department of Health update.

There have been 92 cases in the last seven days, according to a Thursday Wood County Health Department.

There have been 70 cases per 100,000 in the last seven days. There have been no hospitalizations in the last seven days. The test positivity rate is 11%. There is a medium COVID rate in the community, according to the health department.

There have been 381 deaths in Wood County since March 2020, according to the Ohio Department of Health. There have been 1,156 hospitalizations since March 2020.

Statewide, there are 3,197,300 confirmed cases and 40,249 confirmed deaths.

BG transit committee meets

The Transit Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet on Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m., in council chamber, third floor of the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.

The purpose of the meeting will be to review marketing, fiscal and operating reports for the 3rd Quarter CY 2022, and other transit operating and grant topics.

Immediately following the Transit Advisory Committee meeting, the Vehicle Accident Prevention Sub-Committee meeting will be held.

This meeting is open to the public.

Veterans Day Memorial Service set for Nov. 12

A Veterans Day Memorial Service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Plaza of the Wood County Courthouse on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m.

Evie Van Vohris will sing the National Anthem; remarks will be made by Joe Fawcett, Bowling Green director of public services and Global War on Terrorism veteran; the 14th OVI Civil War Re-enactors will provide a rifle salute; and “Taps” will be presented by Ryan Holley.

Demonstration Day: Give Thanks

Come out to the Log Cabin at the Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road, to meet with historic reenactors on the grounds of the Wood County Museum on Nov. 12 from noon-4 p.m.

This is a free family event. See what a traditional Thanksgiving meal looked like, which will include wildfowl, fish, three sisters (corn, squash, beans), and cornbread. The cabin will be open for visitors to go inside and children will have the chance to make a corn husk doll.

The Demonstration Day is free to attend. The museum will be open from 1-4 p.m. with regular admission, $7 for adults, with discounts for seniors, veterans and children. The museum is handicap accessible with an elevator, handicap restrooms, and ample parking in the visitor lot as well as behind the museum (south side). The south elevator entrance is also behind the museum.
