The Parklet Project and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation have announced a new opportunity to support the 67th Annual Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade.

Ohio Logistics, Don Rose Auction and Realty, the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Flatlands Coffee, Grounds for Thought, Juniper Brewing Company, Novel Blends, and SamB’s are partnering to auction the use of parklet spaces during this year’s holiday parade.

Anyone is eligible to bid – individuals, businesses, or community groups. Winners will get front-row seats for family, friends, or co-workers and be treated to hot chocolate, coffee, donuts, and other refreshments. Winners will also receive a gift basket with tickets to Bowling Green State University sporting events, gift certificates and other items donated by local businesses.

The online auction can be previewed beginning Nov. 1 at www.donroseauctions.com. Bidding will begin on Nov. 7 and run until Nov. 14. All of the proceeds will go toward supporting the Bowling Green Holiday Parade.

“We’re excited to help support the Holiday Parade and so grateful to have the support of Ohio Logistics, Don Rose Auction and Realty, and the parklet owners,” Parklet Project member Rachel Phipps said. “Bowling Green is home to the largest holiday parade in Northwest Ohio, and it’s funded almost entirely by charitable donations. Hopefully this initiative helps boost the parade’s funding while also driving new customers into Bowling Green’s great downtown businesses.”

The Parklet Project is a fundraising effort launched in 2021 to help local businesses expand outdoor dining options during the pandemic.

The 67th Annual Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade is presented by the City of Bowling Green, the chamber, BGSU and Wood County Hospital. WTOL Channel 11 will broadcast the parade live again this year with Ryan Wichman as the announcer.

The parade will step off at 9:50 a.m.
