A Bowling Green man took his own life in his front yard Tuesday.

Bowling Green police were dispatched to the 700 block of Ash Street at 2:15 p.m. for a possible suicide attempt.

Dispatch advised that someone had called 911 advising that he was about harm himself with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers found a white male in the front yard of the residence. He had a visible wound to the top of his head and was not breathing, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

BG EMS was called and the man, who was 44, was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m.
