Perrysburg senior Mason Deal, a Division I state qualifier, is the Northern Lakes League Player of the Year and a first team choice.

Deal, 24-0 in first singles heading into this weekend’s state tournament in Mason, is joined on the first team by Perrysburg senior Matthew Willey.

Second team choices are Perrysburg sophomore Sydney Deal, Mason’s sister, and Bowling Green junior Mathias Drumm.

Perrysburg senior Nick Barry and BG sophomore Aaron Hershberger are third team.

Perrysburg won the NLL championship, finishing 7-0 in dual meets and scoring 14 tournament points for a total of 38 points.

Sylvania Northview (5-2) was second with 31 points, Sylvania Southview (5-2) had 28 points, Anthony Wayne (43) had 23 points, Maumee (3-4) scored 18 points, BG (3-4) had 15 points, Springfield (1-6) and Napoleon (0-7) had three points.

NLL BOYS TRACK

Perrysburg has two boys track athletes and Bowling Green has one athlete selected to the All-Northern Lakes League first team.

BG senior Kadin Shank is first team in the 300-meter hurdles and for Perrysburg, sophomore Aiden Owens is the 400 dash first team selection and senior Josiah Brown is the shot put selection.

BG senior Matt Gerwin is second team in the 110 hurdles and Gerwin is joined by seniors Dylan Jones and Isaiah Cook and junior Ashton Studer on the second team 4×200 relay team.

Perrysburg junior Jacob Tinney is second team for the high jump and Perrysburg junior Derrick Newlove is second team for the discus.

BG third team selections are Cook (400 dash), senior Caleb Prater (high jump) and junior Daniel Zimarripa (pole vault).

Perrysburg’s 4×200 relay team, Owens, sophomore Christian Conrad and freshmen Dylan Blubaugh and T.J. Cooper, are third team.

Springfield, which had 10 first team athletes, won the league meet with 112 points, followed by Sylvania Southview (92), Anthony Wayne (84), Perrysburg (82), BG (78), Sylvania Northview (76), Maumee (73) and Napoleon (64).

NLL GIRLS TRACK

Northern Lakes League girls track champion Perrysburg has nine athletes selected to the all-league first team.

First team Yellow Jackets include sophomore Avery Ziesloft (300-meter hurdles), freshman Ava Beeks is selected for the 800 and 1600, and sophomore Hannah Kersten is selected for the 3200.

Perrysburg sophomore Maggie Merriman is first team in the shot put.

Ziesloft, Kersten and Beeks are joined by freshman Natalie Sanders on the on the 4×800 relay team that was selected.

Perrysburg scored 169 points at the NLL meet, followed by Anthony Wayne (111), Sylvania Northview (93), Bowling Green (82), Springfield (73), Napoleon (71), Sylvania Southview (43) and Maumee (20).

BG senior Maddie O’Dell is first team in the 100 hurdles and BG senior Brynn Depinet is first team in the pole vault.

Perrysburg second team choices include junior Adelle Francis (100 and long jump), sophomore Ava Kincaid (100 hurdles), Sanders (800), junior AnnaSophia Gower (3200).

Two Perrysburg relay teams were second team—the 4×100 (Francis, junior Emily Vernon and sophomores Emma Thompson and Ava Kincaid) and the 4×400 (Ziesloft, Beeks, Sanders and freshman Laura Valette).

Perrysburg third team selections are freshman Lexie McGuire (100 hurdles) and Valette (300 hurdles).

BG’s 4×100 relay team, Depinet, O’Dell, junior Bella Roach and sophomore Maddy Adams, is third team.

NBC BASEBALL

Otsego senior pitcher Joseph Dzierwa, a Michigan State signee, is the Northern Buckeye Conference Pitcher of the Year.

Dzierwa is a first team All-NBC pitcher along with Eastwood junior Ethan Rapp.

First team infielders include Eastwood junior Jordan Pickerel at first base, Lake senior Conner Moore at third base, and Eastwood junior Case Boos at shortstop.

Lake senior Michael Tolles is a first team catcher, and Eastwood senior Lake Boos and Lake senior Richie Hayward are first team outfielders.

Also making first team is Eastwood senior Jackson Bauer at designated hitter and Rossford’s Brandon Swope as a utility player.

Second team pitchers are Otsego senior Jared Crozier and Lake freshman Drew Tajblik.

Second team infielders are Lake senior Cam Hoffman (first base), Eastwood senior Isaac Cherry (second base), Eastwood sophomore Andrew Badenhop (third base).and Lake senior Keagon Henry (shortstop).

Otsego sophomore Ty O’Brien is second team catcher, and second team outfielders include Bauer, Rossford junior Jacob Tuczynski, and Elmwood junior Lex Voska.

Otsego junior Blake Steele is a second team designated hitter.

Rossford freshman Jackson Yerkes is an honorable mention pitcher, and HM infielders include Otsego senior Chase Helberg (first base), Rossford junior Alex Williams (second base), and Elmwood junior Mason Mossbarger (shortstop).

Eastwood senior Andrew Arntson is HM catcher, HM outfielders include Otsego sophomore Cohen Feehan, Eastwood junior Tristan Schuerman and Eastwood’s Dylan Hoffman.

Elmwood’s Andrew Holland is an HM designated hitter.

Other HM players include Elmwood catcher Tegan Tyson, Eastwood pitcher Toby Marten, Rossford shortstop Seth Walters, Otsego second baseman Devin Coon, and Lake outfielder Noah Robie.

NBC SOFTBALL

Otsego senor Lexi North is the Northern Buckeye Conference Pitcher of the Year and Eastwood junior Delaney Maynard is the Offensive Player of the Year.

Eastwood sophomore Cassie Kieper joins North as an All-NBC first team pitcher. Maynard is a first team catcher.

First team infielders include Eastwood senior Sam Sibbersen (first base), Otsego sophomore Evelyn Rider (second base), Eastwood senior Kaitlyn Luidhardt (third base) and Eastwood freshman Ady Bowe (shortstop).

First team outfielders include Lake senior Abbie Rymers, Eastwood junior Jessyca Smith and Eastwood sophomore Lily Escobedo.

Lake freshman Addy Boehm is a first team designed player.

Elmwood junior Maddie Milligan is a second team pitcher.

Second team infielders include Otsego freshman Riley Rowe (first base), Eastwood junior Grace Kingery 9second base), Otsego junior Kiana Dingledine (third base) and Otsego senior Makayla Dingledine (shortstop).

Otsego senior Summer Berry is a second team catcher, Rossford senior Paige Kromanacker is a second team utility player, and Otsego junior Ashtyn Gregory is second team DP.

Second team outfielders include Rossford freshman Scarlett Williams and Elmwood junior Abbie Allison.

Honorable mention pitchers are Rossford junior Lola Luderman and Lake freshman Kali Bedford.

HM infielders include Rossford sophomore Liv Hussar (first base), Lake senior Chelsea Wood (first base), Lake freshman Sarah Patrick (second base), Lake junior Jessie Materni (third base), and Elmwood sophomore Kate Keiffer (shortstop).

Elmwood senior Jordyn Babcock is an HM catcher and HM designated players include Eastwood junior Katie Oestrich and Rossford senior Morgan Prater.

HM outfielders include Elmwood senior Anna Allison, Otsego junior Chesney Kuron and Otsego senior Moira Yaney.
