Library celebrates Star Wars
In celebration of Star Wars Reads Day the Children’s Place of the Wood County District Public Library
will offer a movie marathon all day today with popcorn.
"The Force" will return on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.  Star Wars fans of all ages are encouraged
to come in costume for stories, games, crafts and activities.

Legopalooza at the library
Families are invited to the monthly Legopalooza program at the Children’s Place of the Wood County
District Public Library on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.   
The library staff will share their Lego collection along with books for creative ideas and stories.

Activities at Walbridge library
WALBRIDGE – The library here has several activities scheduled for Tuesday.
Books, stories, rhymes, and learning for all ages will be held at 11 a.m. during storytime.
Arts and crafts at 4:30 p.m. is also for all ages.
Listen to a bedtime story starting at 5 p.m.
A Halloween Special Arts and Crafts, including painting pumpkins, will be held Oct. 17 at 4 p.m. is for
kids of all ages.
Build a fairy house
Families, build a fairy house at Wintergarden Park, 615 South Wintergarden Road, on Thursday from 4 to 5
p.m.

Construct a log cabin, make ornaments at Wolcott House
MAUMEE – Children in grades three through six can step back in time for some old-fashioned past-time
events at the Wolcott Heritage Center, 1035 River Road.
Most include make-it and take-it items. Classes are from 10 a.m. to noon and most include make-it,
take-it items. There is a fee. Registration information is available at www.wolcotthouse.org or phone

• Oct. 18 – Victorian Make-it-Take-it. Make Victorian treasure box, fan, silhouettes, and a broach or
hair piece. Cost: $15.
• Nov. 15 – Etiquette Experience-Thanksgiving Dinner, with all the fixings, in the historic Wolcott House
Museum. Cost: $20.
• Nov. 22 – Build Your Own Log Cabin, using pretzel rods and icing. Cost: $15. Adults are encouraged to
participate.
• Dec. 13 – Make HARD-ly TACK-y Christmas Ornaments using hard-tack dough, also tin-punched ornaments.
Cost: $15.
Read ‘Ghosts’ for Chit-Chat
Pick up a copy of the Magic Tree House Merlin Mission novel "A Good Night for Ghosts" and its
nonfiction companion "Ghosts" by Mary Pope Osborne at the Children’s Place desk.
They will be discussed at the Oct. 20, 7 p.m. Novel Chit-Chats at the Wood County District Public
Library. All are welcome to this adult-child book group.
Spotlight on squirrels
PERRYSBURG – Storybook Spotlight at the Way Public Library is a program for children ages 5 to 7 that
focuses on popular picture book characters.
On Oct. 21 from 4 to 5 p.m. the spotlight will be on Scaredy Squirrel.  There will be Scaredy Squirrel
approved games, crafts, and snacks.

Eat pizza, read books
Pizza and Pages, the middle school book club, will meet on Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m. in the Bowling Green
Middle School’s Media Center.
"Pizza and Pages" is a partnership between Bowling Green schools and the Wood County District
Public Library and is open to all area sixth-eighth graders.
The library’s Children’s Place has multiple copies of the pre-selected books. This month, choose one or
more of these spooky titles: "Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos" by R. L. LaFevers,
"The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing" by Sheila Turnage, "The Crossroads" by Chris
Grabenstein and "The Night Gardener" by Jonathan Auxier.

Treats at Wayne library
WAYNE – Trick or Treat at the Wayne Public Library will be Oct. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
There will be donuts and cider, popcorn, kids’ treats and spooky cartoons.
The program will be held in the Wayne Public Library Community Room; enter through the side door.
