Trump is tearing this nation apart

To the Editor:
When I moved to Ohio 17 years ago, I thought I had moved to a place that was filled with the most
wonderful people I ever met. I was proud to call them my neighbors, my friends. These days, I am not
sure.
Last week, the current president of the United States came to Toledo and immediately began to complain,
insult, lie and attack Democrats. He specifically called them vicious people. I can assure you I am far
from vicious and I certainly am not violent.
Unfortunately, since this man was elected, both him, his party and his supporters have embarked on a
campaign violence and bigotry — the likes of which we have never seen in decades. He has inspired his
supporters to spread misinformation, to openly confront and attack anyone who opposes Trump.
They accuse anyone who opposes this madness and his talking points as being un-American, criminals or
worse. Nowhere in this country are people safe any longer. I even find myself having to file harassment
complaints against two of my coworkers, who seem to think it’s their right to antagonize me into a fist
fight by their repeated personal attacks and attempts to bully me into complacency with their cult
leader.
Donald J. Trump is not a victim or a patriotic American trying to save our nation or a Christian or — in
any way, shape or form — a benevolent human being.
Trump is a vicious, racist, ignorant tyrant. I don’t know what course others may take, but as for me, give
me liberty or give me death. This cult has got to be stopped before we have millions dead on our streets
as a result of his factless, brutal and total disregard of human rights. I cannot believe this fascist
evil has happened here.
What has happened to the country I love and what has happened to the good people in Ohio. Where are the
defenders of liberty? When are they going to rise and stop this?
