Penta’s culinary arts students present Taste of the Nations

PERRYSBURG – High school seniors, who are studying Culinary Arts at Penta Career Center, have spent the
past few weeks researching foods from foreign countries and will be preparing many dishes for sampling
during an event called "Taste of the Nations" Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Taste of the Nations will be in the student-operated Culinary Connection restaurant on the campus of
Penta Career Center, 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg Township.
There is a cost of 50 cents per ticket and food samples range in price from 50 cents to $1.50.
The students will be preparing a variety of dishes from the following countries: Canada, Germany,
England, Bulgaria, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Morocco, Bahamas (USA), Turkey, and Japan. Some of the
dishes include: stuffed squash marrows from Bulgaria; shrimp on the barbie from Australia; maple mousse
with candied bacon from Canada; veal schnitzel from Germany; fish and chips from England; coconut papaya
rice pudding from Thailand; beef brisket pho from Vietnam; lamb burgers with couscous from Morocco;
conch fritters from the Bahamas; spiced beef burek from Turkey; and spicy tuna roll from
