RAVENNA, Ohio (AP) — A barn fire at a northeast Ohio animal sanctuary killed two goats, a rooster and a
pot belly pig.
The
director of the Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary says the fire Friday
night spread quickly through the facility’s goat barn.
Annette
Fisher tells The Plain Dealer newspaper in Cleveland that they were able
to rescue two goats that travel to nursing homes and special events
along with two cats.
She says that they were fortunate that the fire didn’t spread to other nearby barns and shelters.
The animal sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates, and provides an adoption program for animals that are abused
or abandoned.
