To stay at the top a company has to continually adapt, which often means playing a powerful role in the
community, economy and on a social level. Without adapting, companies risk being left behind by
competitors.
Mike Thiel, food safety manager, The Kroger Co., will speak on the sustainability strategy for one of the
nation’s largest grocery chains at the monthly Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum.
Networking starts at 8 a.m., and the forum begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation,
located on Ohio 582 west of Ohio 25.
Thiel will focus on operations, government relations and consumer affairs as it relates to food safety in
the 124 stores he oversees in Ohio and West Virginia. He is president of the Ohio Association for Food
Protection and a member of both the Ohio and National Environmental Health Associations. He will be
accompanied by Marne Fuller, retail operations, The Kroger Co., who focuses on overall management of
waste removal.
Cost is $10/person payable at the door (cash or check). Walk-ins are welcome, but guests are encouraged
to reserve a seat in advance.
