Herringshaw knows how to be business-friendly

To the Editor:
Doris Herringshaw has achieved a great deal in the two years she has served as Wood County Commissioner
and I urge you to join me in voting for her on November 4th.
Commissioner Herringshaw is a fiscal conservative who relates to my needs as a business owner and brings
excellent credentials to the position. She has run a family business for decades and has been an active
member of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, serving as its President.
Businesses today compete globally and locate where they have the best resources to succeed. This includes
a qualified workforce; low operating costs such as energy, taxes; transportation options
(highways/roads, rail, airports); low crime rate; good education system including those that offer
work-related and technical courses; and a well maintained infrastructure. Commissioner Herringshaw has
proactively supported these resources.
As a member of the Good Jobs Initiative, Commissioner Herringshaw partnered with BGSU, Penta, OCC,
Economic Development and the skilled trade unions to make job training a reality and stimulate local
employment opportunities. As a direct result, Wood County continues to prosper from low unemployment and
significant economic development. Companies such as FedEx, CSX, Home Depot and Camper World have chosen
to locate and/or expand their businesses in Wood County.
Commissioner Herringshaw has worked well with the two other County Commissioners to balance our budget
which is no easy task.  This was accomplished without raising taxes.
Commissioner Herringshaw has the credentials and has proven her commitment to create an environment
friendly to businesses, agriculture and residents while protecting our natural resources. I confidently
recommend Doris Herringshaw for Wood County Commissioner.
