Final Firefly Nights of the summer is Friday

The last Firefly Nights Festival of the summer is set for Friday from 6-10 p.m.
Firefly Nights is nonprofit organization dedicated to planning and executing four strategic events in the
heart of our city. The mission of Firefly Nights is to foster the diverse, neighborly and lively
atmosphere of Downtown Bowling Green while giving the community an opportunity to gather for fun, food
and entertainment.
Firefly Nights features include:
• Music – type and style will vary per festival (live bands, DJ’s, line dancing caller)
• Outdoor dining – restaurants will obtain permits to bring service out into the street
• Shopping – local stores will bring merchandise into the street
• Farmers Market
• Vendors – type and style will vary per festival (fine art, vintage, crafts)
• Children’s area (sidewalk chalk, STEM projects, art projects, inflatables)
• Photo booth
Friday’s event will feature members of the Bowling Green State University football and volleyball teams
in an activity zone. Meet Freddie and Frieda Falcon.
The music lineup is: 6 p.m. Timmy C and Friends, 6:45 p.m. Therapy Sessions, 7:30 p.m. Bowen and Timmy, 9
p.m. Payne & Co.
In conjunction with the festival, certain street closures will be imposed in downtown area.
Church Street, from the entrance to City Parking Lot 3 (just south of Court Street) to City Parking Lot 4
(just north of Clough Street) will be closed to traffic at 4 p.m. Wooster Street will remain open for
east and westbound traffic throughout the festival.
During the Church Street closure, detour routes for local and truck traffic will be posted.
All streets will reopen on Friday following the event.
There will also be a festival this fall on Oct. 18.
