Open house to honor North
NORTH BALTIMORE – An open house for retiring North Baltimore Schools Superintendent will be held
Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the board office.
North is stepping down at the end of the month after serving in North Baltimore for 22 years.
She has been in education 31 years.
Buckeye Boys Stater can try for BGSU scholarship
Participants at this year’s Buckeye Boys State now have an extra incentive to attend Bowling Green State
University-the Buckeye Boys State Achievement Scholarship.
The automatic $1,000 scholarship for Boys State participants is renewable yearly and may be combined with
other university scholarships. In order to receive it, the participant will need to apply for admission
to BGSU by Nov. 1.
"The attendees of Buckeye Boys State are some of the most outstanding young scholars in Ohio,"
said Cecilia Castellano, interim director of admissions at BGSU. "This award represents BGSU’s
commitment to investing in these future leaders."
Cardinal Chorale performs in Fostoria
FOSTORIA – The 19t edition of the Cardinal Chorale will be in Fostoria as part of their 12-concert summer
tour.
The concert will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Wendelin Parish, 323 N. Wood St., in Fostoria.

The chorale’s 90-minute program will feature selections from their shows "Keep the Dream Alive"
and "Sing Together;" music that "will fill the soul and lift the spirit," as one
listener described a chorale performance.
The Cardinal Chorale is a select 45-voice traveling ensemble of high school and college singers.
Local personnel of the chorale include Ian Roberts from Fostoria and accompanist Patrick Sulken, also
from Fostoria.
There is no admission charge for the concert, but an offering will be received to help covers the
chorale’s travel expenses.
