Doege leaves BG, selects West Virginia

Former Bowling Green State University quarterback Jarret Doege made his decision to transfer to West
Virginia official Thursday, via his Twitter account.
Doege, who started all 12 games for the Falcons a year ago and was working as the obvious No. 1
throughout spring practice, entered his name into the transfer portal last week.
Grant Loy, a reshirt junior, is the only returning quarterback who has thrown a collegiate pass for BG.
Loy has attempted 28 passes, comleting 16 of them for 341 yards and two touchdowns.
The only other quarterbacks on the Bowling Green roster is a pair of redshirt freshmen, Bryce Veasley and
Grant Strock.
Doege, whose older brother was not retained to the coaching staff amid the staff turnover, leaves BG
after having one of the most prolific seasons for a Falcons quarterback.
His 27 touchdowns in 2018 finishes among the school’s all-time leaders for touchdowns in a season — doing
so as a sophomore.
West Virginia currently has four quarterbacks listed on its 2019 roster.
