To the Editor:
The Wood County Library offers so much more than just books to our community. Movies, reading groups,
youth activities and an incredible children’s area and library. Our children, like countless other Wood
County children, have benefited from our dedicated children’s librarians. From story times, to hunting
down the perfect book for a reluctant 7 year old boy, these librarians have helped show young readers
that reading can be adventurous, creative, important, exciting, and most of all enjoyable. And this
isn’t by accident; the librarians in the children’s areas are passionate about helping all children
learn to read. Our library offers something for every stage of a child’s reading development. The value
of play and imagination isn’t overlooked for the youngest children. The youngest readers benefit from
the library’s large selection of leveled reading books and their interdisciplinary approach to reading.
Our librarians bring art, music, science and history into their programs. They are able to bring stories
alive by facilitating hands-on experiences. Teen readers are offered great group reading programs like
Pages and Pizza. The dedicated professionals at our Wood County Library deserve our support to continue
to offer these great services to our community.
