Bowling Green’s men’s soccer team buried four second-half goals in rallying to beat Canisius 4-1 in
nonleague play on Saturday.
Chris Sullivan opened the scoring for the Falcons (5-3-1), while Chris Brennan, Ike Swiger and Matt
Walters each followed with a goal apiece.
Swiger and Walters, both sophomores, earned their first collegiate goals in the win.
Volleyball
BGSU 3, Kent State 0
KENT — Bowling Green’s volleyball team trailed in two sets on Saturday, but rallied each time to sweep
Kent State 25-21, 25-21, 26-24 in Mid-American Conference action.
Katelyn Meyer, an Eastwood graduate, paced the Falcons (8-6, 2-0 MAC) with 15 kills with a .481 hitting
percentage.
Katie Kidwell also helped BG’s attack with 14 kills and a three block assists. Isabelle Marciniak racked
up 42 assists, while Julia Walz led with 13 digs.
Women’s Soccer
BGSU 2, Buffalo 1
After Buffalo buried an equalizer with just seconds to spare in the first half, Bowling Green quickly
responded in the second half en route to a 2-1 Mid-American Conference win at Cochrane Field on
Saturday.
Maureen Kennedy opened the scoring with a goal into the upper right corner to give the Falcons (4-4-2,
2-0-0 MAC) an early 1-0 lead at the 10-minute mark.
Nikki Cox’s shot into the lower right corner at the 47-minute mark gave BG its final lead at 2-1.
Kathleen Duwve made a pair of saves.
Gianna Yurchak scored near the end of the first half for Buffalo.
