CORAL GABLES, Fl. — Bowling Green nearly doubled up Jacksonville in the first half and held on for a
75-59 nonconference win on Monday.
Justin Turner, who was named the Mid-American Conference East division player of the week after averaging
23 points per game last week, struggled from the field but notched his third career double-double and
nearly had a triple-double to lead the Falcons (2-1).
Turner, who shot 5 of 14 from the floor, led BG in points (15), rebounds (10), assists (8) and tied for
the team lead with two steals.
Trey Diggs buried 4 of 6 3-point attempts off the bench to score 12 points, while Daeqwon Plowden and
Marlon Sierra both scored 11 points apiece. Plowden also led the Falcons with three blocks and Sierra
grabbed five rebounds.
Despite Jacksonville attempting 27 free throws to BG’s 11, the Falcons shot 100% percent at the line
going 11 of 11.
Bowling Green returns home for a school-day game at 11 a.m on Friday against Fairmont State.
