VAN BUREN – A 4-year-old Fostoria boy remained in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash
early this morning in Hancock County, west of the village.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at 1:13 a.m. on Ohio 613 near
County Road 140.
At that time Lucina Brose, 38, Fostoria, was driving west on Route 613 in a 2007 Ford Mustang when she
lost control of the vehicle, traveling off the north side of the roadway.
The vehicle struck a tree, then a mailbox, and went over a drainage ditch and through a field.
The vehicle then struck another tree and came to rest near a house.
Brose was taken by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, for treatment. She was not listed as
a patient there this morning.
Her passenger, Josiah Brose, 4, Fostoria, was taken by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center,
Toledo.
The crash remains under investigation.
