Public health employees thanked for their dedication

To the Editor:
This Thanksgiving week, I’d like to thank our Wood County Health District public health professionals who
go above and beyond to protect the health of all Wood County residents. These public health
professionals dedicate their time and energy to combat disease outbreaks and other health threats. These
behind the scene heroes keep our drinking water and food safe, provide immunizations and health care
services, track and investigate infections, and protect us against health challenges such as the Ebola
virus, foodborne illnesses, natural disasters and much more.
Along with Research America, the nation’s largest not-for-profit public education and advocacy alliance
committed to making research to improve health a higher national priority, and other leading public
health organizations, the Wood County Health District will mark Monday, November 24, as Public Health
Thank You Day and salute our public health heroes for all of their hard work and dedication!
