To the Editor:
I am writing to encourage the residents of Wood County to vote for Andy Newlove for a seat on the Wood
County Board of Commissioners. I believe Andy has much to offer the people of Wood County. His
professional experience as a well respected real estate agent and broker have helped him develop a skill
set that gives him a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges facing the residents of Wood
County.
Andy has consistently demonstrated his exceptional communication skills, his ability to grasp and
understand complex financial arrangements, and the ability to bring diverse entities together to achieve
an outcome that benefits all of those involved. It is my opinion that these are among the most important
qualities that we look for in our elected officials. I have known Andy for many years and have witnessed
on many occasions his desire and commitment to the improvement of his community. Andy serves with
distinction on the Bowling Green Civil Service Commission, and has been a driving force in the effort to
fund the July 4th fireworks display in Bowling Green,  while also providing financial assistance to many
community groups. Andy has also demonstrated a keen awareness of, and interest in community issues.
During my time on Bowling Green City Council, I have enjoyed many conversations with Andy discussing
issues facing the City. These conversations have made it clear to me that Andy understands well the many
issues that challenge elected officials. Among them are the need to manage taxpayer funds in a
conservative manner in order to continue to deliver quality service to residents, to maintain and
improve our infrastructure, and the importance of continued economic development efforts that result in
not just retaining jobs in the county, but also creating new, good paying jobs. It is my belief that the
sum of Andy’s business experience and his demonstrated commitment to community and public service
combine to merit his election to this important position. I urge all county residents to join me in
voting for Andy Newlove on November 4.
