Tom Sanderson, pictured here with emergency vehicles at the Bowling Green Fire Division, is the city’s
new fire chief. He was appointed chief following the retirement of Stephen Meredith from the post
earlier this summer, and has been with the Fire Division since 1991, when he was hired as a
firefighter/paramedic. Sanderson was promoted to lieutenant in 1999 and became captain in 2007.
Sanderson has coached youth soccer for 11 years and has served on the advisory board for the American
Red Cross of Wood County. He and his wife of 26 years, Christine, have one daughter, Corie.
