COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A grand jury has cleared three central Ohio police officers who fatally shot a
knife-wielding man last fall.
The three officers shot at 31-year-old Jason White in separate confrontations in November when they
responded to an early morning call at a Columbus apartment complex.
They say one of the officers tried to subdue White with a stun gun before shooting him. White fled and
jumped a fence outside the complex, then was shot by the other officers when he confronted each with the
knife.
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/SJQlhx ) reports the actions of the three officers also are being
reviewed to determine whether they followed department policy.
The grand jury declined to indict the officers May 30.
