Arbor sets meeting
Portage Center Arbor #524 will be meeting Sunday at Portage United Methodist Church on Portage Road.
Members are having a Swiss Steak meal. Gleaners will meet at noon and share in the meal that the church
will be having. At 1 p.m. their will be a short meeting with Joe Matthews who is with Principle Business
Enterprise that works with the Safety Program. He will be talking about recycling that will cover
Activity #4 called Environmental #4 and #14 Learn as an Arbor. Also the group will be talking about
Activity #8 Benevolent Fund Activity #14. Bring what dates that you would be able to meet. The public is
invited to join.
Solar energy meeting planned
There will be a free program to provide participants an overview of Ohio’s net metering policy, on-farm
solar applications and assessments, a case study from a farm operating solar system, and a review of the
USDA Rural Energy for America Grant.
The meeting will be April 21 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Huron County Extension Office, 180 Milan
Ave., Suite 1, Norwalk. The meeting starts with a free lunch provided by Ecojiva Solar. There is no cost
