CLEVELAND — Nexus Engineering Group LLC, headquartered in Cleveland with offices in Maumee and Houston, is a full-service, independent engineering firm focused on supporting clients’ specific project goals from concept to startup.

Nexus deepened its relationships with existing clients and expanded its sustainability, renewable energy and project services offerings in 2021, growing 25% in annual revenue, as well as adding 35 new team members in a record-breaking year.

Nexus has nearly 200 team members, and with its commitment to further expand its offerings and footprint across Ohio, Nexus is well-positioned for continued success in 2022 and beyond.

Nexus completed several major projects at refining, chemical and power generation facilities throughout the United States.

These projects included process engineering for the expansion of an elastomer facility at a Healthcare Industries Material Site in the Great Lakes Region that produces silicone-based materials for the global healthcare industry; detailed design and procurement to mitigate plant environmental emissions at a client’s water treatment system in the Central region; scoping, conceptual process and electrical design for a 15MW combined heat and power development in the Midwest.

One of its most significant accomplishments was supporting its clients in achieving their carbon emissions goals by providing energy assessments and optimizations. These included co-generation, heat recovery and enhancements to their electrical infrastructure.

Nexus also took on new clients that specialize in renewable energy, a critical area of growth for 2022. To maintain momentum and expand on its successes, in July Nexus announced plans with JobsOhio to grow the firm’s downtown Cleveland headquarters and its engineering operations in Maumee. This long-term commitment to the state ensures the firm can best serve its regional clients while attracting and developing the industry’s best talent.

In 2022, the firm expects to see further growth in services and capabilities that support their clients’ long-term strategic goals. These include:

– Enhanced project services and controls to support the clients’ total project portfolio

– Further expanding project services and controls offerings beyond Nexus-executed projects, allowing clients to leverage Nexus’ proven approach to manage their internal project portfolios

– Leveraging technology and innovation to improve constructability planning and collaboration across the project team.

– Applying proven methodologies and technologies to improve overall project performance by driving down controllable project costs and improving safety, quality, field labor productivity, and return on investment based on life cycle costs.

Expertise in supporting environmental emissions goals and renewable energy projects

Helping clients that have announced major decarbonization goals by providing energy assessments and optimizations which could include co-generation, heat recovery, and additional gas separation, clean-up, compression, and export.

Enabling projects that reduce carbon emissions, like connecting operations to renewable or lower-carbon energy sources

– Providing necessary enhancements to the electrical infrastructure to ensure energy supply is reliable, dependable, and distributable

– Leveraging process expertise to help renewable energy producers scale their operations

The firm will be making continued investments in talent acquisition and development in 2022. Nexus expects to significantly increase the number of interns and co-ops it employs, creating a pipeline for top engineering talent. This investment also includes refreshing its career development and management program to prepare its junior team members for leadership opportunities and to support newer managers with skills and tools.
