Illustrator Lindsay Ward headlines Literacy in the Park

0

Lindsay Ward will be the featured author and illustrator at Saturday’s Literacy in the Park on the
Bowling Green State University campus.
The event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Perry Field House.
Literacy in the Park celebrates the importance of literacy — using language to make meaning of the world
around us. Children and families have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning activities around
reading, writing, art, music, computer coding, language and culture, financial literacy, health
& nutrition, physical education, pet therapy, science and nature, and many other forms of
literacy that can be found in our lives and communities.
This free family event will feature literacy-based activities, a goodie bag, booths, entertainment,
prizes crafts and snacks.
Ward will present at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Student author awards will be given at 11:30 a.m. There will
be a chance to meet Ward at 1:30 p.m.
Ward was on campus in March as a preview to her Literacy in the Park appearance.
“Vacation for Dexter” is her newest book. It follows the tales of Dexter T. Rexter, the neurotic dinosaur
and his boy Jack. This is the third book in the Dexter series.
“Let’s Go,” which comes out in July, has die-cuts for vehicles that will pop out as the pages are opened.
