TONTOGANY — Araha Burgy led all players in both hits and RBIs as Otsego shellacked Woodmore 15-4 in
Monday’s Northern Buckeye Conference opener.
Burgy matched Woodmore hit for hit with three base knocks and drove in three runs to lead the Knights
(5-2, 1-0 NBC). Hannah Smoyer, with two hits, also had three RBIs for Otsego.
Otsego opened with a three-run first inning and added five runs in both the second and third frames.
Woodmore struggled in the field with seven errors, while Otsego had one.

Perrysburg 18, Northview 0
SYLVANIA — Perrysburg opened its league schedule with an 18-0 drubbing of Sylvania Northview on Monday.

The Yellow Jackets, who improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the Northern Lakes League, scored in every
inning including a pair of six-run frames in the second and third innings. Perrysburg has stretched its
win streak to four games after starting the year 0-3.
Halie Monhollen racked up a game-high four hits and four RBIs for Perrysburg. Mars Deemer also knocked in
four runs.
Anna Koeppl did not allow a run with five strikeouts across four innings to nab the win for the Jackets.

Northview, which had three hits, committed four errors in the loss.

Elmwood 7, Lake 2
MILLBURY — Three Elmwood players accounted for six of its eight hits on Monday as the Royals trounced
Lake 7-2 in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener.
Lainey Bingham, Makenna Benschoter and Chy Cluck each had a pair of hits for Elmwood (7-2, 1-0 NBC).
Bingham and Benschoter also had two RBIs apiece.
Benschoter tossed all five innings in the circle to earn the win.
The Flyers (2-3, 0-1 NBC) scored both of their runs in the fifth inning.

ROSSFORD — Ashley Hitchcock recorded 15 outs for Eastwood on Monday.
Hitchock notched 14 of them via strikeout in spinning a perfect game to lead the Eagles over Rossford
12-0 in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener.
Hannah Owens paced Eastwood’s offense with three hits and four RBIs — both game highs. Kaitlyn Luidhart
had a pair of hits and Carmen Bejarano drove in two runs.
Rossford dropped to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the NBC.

WHITEHOUSE — Brooke Mannin had Bowling Green’s only hit on Monday as the Bobcats fell 6-0 to Anthony
Wayne in the Northern Lakes League opener.
Anthony Wayne scored six runs in six hits, and played clean defense. BG (4-3, 0-1 NLL) had four errors.

MILLBURY — Jaxon Delventhal and Brendan Zink both drove in a pair of runs to lead Lake past Elmwood 5-0
in Monday’s Northern Buckeye Conference opener.
Delventhal was the only Flyers (7-0, 1-0 NBC) player to tally multiple hits, while Harry Jackson walked
twice.
Jacob Boelkens struck out 11 in a seven-inning shutout win on the mound for Lake.
Jonathan Duvall and Carter Taft each had a hit to pace the Royals.

WHITEHOUSE — Kyle Jackson nearly outhit Anthony Wayne on his own in leading Bowling Green to a 4-2 win in
the Northern Lakes League opener on Monday.
Jackson had three hits to lead the Bobcats (6-0, 1-0 NLL), while Bryce Hoehner had two hits and an RBI.

Tucker Craft threw all seven innings with three strikeouts for the win for BG.

Perrysburg 12, Northview 7
SYLVANIA — Perrysburg scored five second-inning runs and never lost its lead in topping Sylvania
Northview 12-7 in Monday’s Northern Lakes League opener.
Luke Borer and Aiden Pratt each racked up three hits to lead the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 1-0 NLL) and Borer
knocked in a game-high three runs. Pratt and Bryan Mitchell — who pitched five innings for the win — had
a pair of RBIs each.
Northview pushed across three runs in the third inning and scored four more in a seventh-inning rally.

Rossford 5, Eastwood 4
ROSSFORD — Eastwood rallied to tie Rossford in the top of the seventh inning.
But the Bulldogs answered with a score in the bottom of the frame to snag a 5-4 Northern Buckeye
Conference win in the league opener on Monday.
The two schools combined for eight hits, but none was bigger than Logan Reiter’s walk-off single in the
seventh.
Rossford’s (2-3, 1-0 NBC) Shane Pitzen was the lone player with multiple hits. Pitzen had a pair of hits
and knocked in a game-high two RBIs. Cameron Reynolds struck out a game-best eight players across six
innings.
Caleb Peters and Griffin Coffield each drove in a run to lead the Eagles (5-2, 0-1).

TONTOGANY — Kodey Miller belted a home run in leading Otsego past Woodmore 3-2 in the Northern Buckeye
Conference opener on Monday.
Ben Gray tallied two hits for the Knights and AJ Mancini struck out eight to secure the complete-game
win.

Defiance 5, Bowling Green 0
DEFIANCE — Bowling Green won 12 games across its first two matches, but the Bobcats were ultimately swept
5-0 by Defiance on Monday.
Dom Meszaros performed well in No. 1 singles, winning seven games, but he fell 6-2, 7-5. Luke Konecny
dropped No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3.
Ty Gulgin was swept in No. 3 singles, while Aaron Lamb and Evan Jiang were swept in No. 2 doubles. Hayden
McCracken and Jack Devine fell 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 doubles.
