Brown Bag Series continues Friday
The City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department along with the College of Musical Arts at
Bowling Green State University continues to hold the 13th annual Brown Bag Music Series sponsored by
Bowling Green Manor/Bowling Green Care Center.
The next event will take place on Friday from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut
Ave. Bring a lunch and enjoy a musical performance by students and faculty from the College of Musical
Arts in a comfortable and warm setting. Drinks and dessert will be available for purchase.
The sixth performance in the series will be Chamber Music.

Get tickets now for NAMI dinner
NAMI Wood County will hold its 12th annual dinner, celebrating resiliency. It will be held at the Stone
Ridge Golf Club and feature dinner, silent auction, awards and keynote speaker, Dr. Ken Newbury. The
deadline to register is Friday.
Newbury is a lifelong educator, described by many of his students as the best professor at Bowling Green
State University. A former family therapist, game show host, elementary principal, ethics trainer,
author and music director, his passion is teaching for leadership and change. His recent project was to
write, direct and produce a film on the opioid epidemic.

NAMI Wood County’s mission is to offer help and hope to families and individuals affected by mental
illness through support, education, and advocacy. Since 1987, NAMI Wood County has offered free classes
and support groups to all community members living with and supporting individuals with mental illness.

Cherry Blossom Fest celebrates Japanese culture
The Ohanami Cherry Blossom Festival, presented by the Bowling Green State University Japanese Club and
the Asian Studies Program is set for Sunday from noon-4 p.m. at the Lenhart Grand Ballroom in the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
The festival is free an open to the public.
Activities include caricatures, calligraphy, origami, Japanese games, kimono try-ons, martial arts
demonstrations, authentic Japanese refreshments, rice-cake making and a Taiko performance.

Easter bunny is guest for Lake Twp. breakfast
MILLBURY — Have breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday at the Lake Township Administration Building,
Cummings Road.
The Friends of the Lake Township Parks will hold the meal from 8:30-11 a.m.
Blacksmith Demonstration Day at historical center
On Saturday, the Wood County Historical Center and Museum will host a Demonstration Day featuring the
Northwest Ohio Blacksmiths Association as they keep the art of blacksmithing stoked with an Open Forge
Demonstration from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Watch seasoned blacksmiths or try this lost art.
The museum, 13660 County Home Road, will offer free admission from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Also on Saturday, at 2
p.m., will be the Wood County Paupers Cemetery dedication ceremony, with a special monument dedication
and unveiling. With the help of the Wood County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, the identity
of approximately 250 individuals buried on the grounds of the Historical Center will now be publicly
recognized and identified.
