DEFIANCE — Bowling Green grabbed an early lead and never trailed in stopping Defiance 4-1 on Thursday.

Kyle Jackson, Andrew Robinette and Christian Peek each tallied a pair of hits to lead the Bobcats (3-0).
Luke Roberts drove in a game-high two runs for BG.
Tucker Craft fanned 10 batters and tossed a complete-game shutout to earn the win for the Bobcats.

Lake 8, Maumee 1
MAUMEE — Lake maintained its perfect season in the first week with an 8-1 win over Maumee on Thursday.

The Flyers (3-0), who have outscored opponents 28-2 in the opening week, were led by Austin Fouty’s four
hits and two RBIs.
Bronson Medley singled, doubled and tallied a game-high three RBIs for Lake.

Menomonee Falls 21, Perrysburg 3
COCOA BEACH, Fl — Perrysburg’s baseball team racked up seven hits, but its offense was no match for
Menomonee Falls as the Yellow Jackets fell 21-3 in nonleague action on Thursday.
Perrysburg (3-1), which suffered its first regular-season loss, was led by Hudson Smith’s two singles and
two RBIs. Cameron Githens also singled twice.
The Yellow Jackets also fell 6-3 to Bloomington on Thursday in exhibition action.

PORT CLINTON — Otsego poured on 10 runs in nine hits to topple Port Clinton 10-1 in Thursday’s nonleague
game.
Alex Brown flustered hitters all night, striking out nine batters in a complete-game win for the Knights.

Bowling Green 5, Toledo Start 1
TOLEDO — Bowling Green fell behind early, but responded with an explosive fourth inning to down Toledo
Start 5-1 in Thursday’s nonleague game.
Katie Devine and Lexi North racked up three hits apiece to pace the Bobcats (2-1), who have won two
straight after a season-opening loss.
North also struck out 11 batters across five innings in the circle to nab the victory for BG.

TONTOGANY — Shelbey Spurlock hit a milestone and helped keep Otsego unbeaten as the Knights rolled past
Evergreen 9-1 on Thursday.
Spurlock, who has earned the win in both games for the Knights, nabbed her 549th career strikeout trying
Kylie Asmus for the school record.
Makayla Dingledine singled twice, doubled and had a pair of RBIs to lead Otsego’s offense, which had 13
hits.

OAK HARBOR — Lake racked up more errors than hits and fell 7-1 to Oak Harbor in nonleague action on
Thursday.
Kenzie Jackson tripled to lead the Flyers (0-3). Natalie Patrick drove in their lone run and Tatum Miller
took the loss.
