St. Rose has stations, fish fry
PERRYSBURG — St. Rose Catholic Church will be holding Stations of the Cross and a Lenten Fish Fry every
Friday through April 12.
The meals will be served from 5-7 p.m. each Friday during Lent except for Good Friday. Dinner includes
all-you-can-eat hand-battered golden fried fish, coleslaw, applesauce, baked potatoes, French fries,
beverages, bread, rolls and macaroni and cheese.
There will also be slices of cheese pizza and homemade desserts for an extra fee. Meals are $8 for
adults; $7 for senor (age 62 and over); $5 for children (age 4-12); under 4 are free; slices of pizza
are $4 each.
Stations of the Cross will begin a 7 p.m. in the church.

This week’s Bowling Green Lenten Lunch will be held at First Christian Church, 875 Haskins Road, from
noon-12:55 p.m. on Wednesday and prepared by their congregation.
This year’s theme is Tools for the Journey Toward Easter and this week’s subject will be Growing in Bible
Study.
The Bowling Green Ministerial Association and the combined churches of Bowling Green sponsor the Annual
Lenten Lunch Series which is free and open to everyone; no reservation required.
Lecture on clergy sex abuse set
SYLVANIA — The Sylvania Franciscan Village will present A Response to the Vatican Summit on Clergy Sex
Abuse: Searching for More Radical Solutions, a special lecture by Father Jim Bacik on March 31 at 3 p.m.
in the Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd.
The lecture will summarize the main presentations at the Vatican meeting; recognize the deep anger and
frustration of so many; and suggest needed reforms, including opening up the clerical culture, fostering
greater lay involvement at all levels, and developing institutional structures for holding complicit
bishops accountable.
This lecture is co-sponsored by the Sylvania Franciscan Village, Perrysburg St. Rose Peace and Justice
Committee, and the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests Toledo Chapter Social Justice Subcommittee.
Tickets are $10 reserved and $15 at the door. The first 200 people to reserve tickets for the lecture
will receive a free copy of Bacik’s newest book, “Enduring Wisdom for Today’s Spiritual Seekers” (Limit
one free book per household).
