Trinity UM reaches outward during Lent

On Ash Wednesday, Trinity United Methodist Church hosted Rev. Andrea Curry, who shared with each person
that God loves them and wants to have a relationship with them.
The church’s Ash Wednesday events offered drive-through ashes in the church parking lot in the morning,
ashes to go on campus in the afternoon and through the traditional evening service at the church.
Those Ash Wednesday events are part of the movement, Fresh Expressions of Church, that is beginning at
Trinity. Fresh Expressions is an adventure in bringing the power of the Gospel to people who might never
experience Christian community and the transformational and self-giving love of Jesus.
Each month the church will have two Fresh Expression events. One is Trinity Taco Tuesdays at 6 p.m. the
first and third Tuesday of each month at Guajillo’s Cocina Mexicana on 434 E. Wooster S. This is an
informal Bible study led by Curry and Helen Dukes.
The second monthly event is Dinner Church in Trinity UMC’s Fellowship Hall, 220 N. Summit St. That event
includes a free meal, music, faith conversations and communion on the fourth Wednesday of each month at
6 p.m.
All are welcome to any or all of these events.
