BG’s Elsasser leads area hoopers in NW District selections

0

Bowling Green’s Isaac Elsasser added another line to his list of achievements this season, as the senior
was named to the Division I Northwest District second team.
BG and Perrysburg each landed a pair of players on the Division I selections.
Rossford led area Division III schools with a pair of picks. Elmwood and Otsego each had a player named
to round out area selections.
Elsasser, who claimed the Bobcats’ school scoring record in the season finale last Friday, paced BG with
21.4 points per game. The senior was a first-team pick in the Northern Lakes League all-conference
picks.
Teammate Bryce Hoehner joined Elsasser on the list as an honorable mention. The Perrysburg duo of Ben
Boros and Jackson Sizemore — who helped the Yellow Jackets reach a district semifinal for the first time
since 2014 — were also D-I honorable mentions.
CamRon Gaston and Ethan Dewese were both honorable mentions in Division III. The Rossford duo averaged
13.6 points per game apiece, while Dewese led the team with 6.9 rebounds per game.
Elmwood’s Jonathan Duvall (14.6 ppg) and Otsego’s Mitchell Downs, both first-team picks in the Northern
Buckeye Conference, were also D-III honorable mentions.
