ATHENS — Bowling Green’s women’s basketball team matched Buffalo blow for blow in the opening quarter on
Wednesday.
But despite solid long-range shooting from their starting backcourt duo, the Falcons struggled from the
field, allowed 49 points across the next two quarters and fell 75-61 in a Mid-American Conference game.

Sydney Lambert and Morgan McMillen, who led BG with 18 points apiece, combined to shoot 10 of 23 from
3-point range. The rest of the team shot just 2 of 10 from deep, and the team combined to shoot 6 of 15
inside the arc.
BG, which dropped to 9-19 overall and 2-15 in the MAC, will enter the conference tournament as the 12
seed following Ball State’s win on Wednesday.
The Falcons were deadlocked at 10-10 after the first quarter. Buffalo responded with a 25-point quarter
followed by a 24-point frame to pull away from BG.
The Bulls (20-8, 12-5) pounced on the Falcons’ missed opportunities turning the missed shots into a 52-24
rebounding advantage. As a result, the Bulls tallied 66 shot attempts.
Cierra Dillard, who stumbled to a 6-of-30 effort, connected on all 13 of her foul shots to score a
game-high 27 points. Summer Hemphill pumped in 17 and led with 16 rebounds, including six on the
offensive glass. Brittany Morrison came off the bench to score 14 with 14 boards, including a game-best
10 offensive rebounds.
Maddie Cole’s seven rebounds paced the Falcons. Kadie Hempfling, who did not score, led with nine
assists.
BG’s go-to player Andrea Cecil, who had been averaging nearly a double-double over the past month, was
held to four points in 25 minutes before fouling out.
The Falcons wrap up their regular season at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ohio. BG will then begin tournament play
on Monday at a school to be determined by final standings.
